Turtle Release from Loggerhead Marine Life Center

Mo and Sally and hundreds of others watch as three rehabilitated sea turtles return home.

  •
This is Boomer, one of three turtles released.
  •
A crowd gathers to watch as Boomer, JP and Snowflake go home.
  •
Hundreds of people gathered on the shores of Juno Beach to witness the event.
  •
The turtles arrive, carried by members of the Loggerhead Marine Life Center.
  •
Boomer, a young Loggerhead was stranded in the Cape Cod area and was cold stunned. Same for Snowflake.
  •
    Boomer being carried to shore.
  •
Boomer's flippers are moving fast as he nears the water.
  •
All three are placed on the shore.
  •
They make their way into the ocean.
  •
Boomer is first in the water.
  •
    Snowflake, far left is second.
  •
Finally JP decides it's time to go.
  •
JP had been hooked by a fisherman at the Juno Beach Pier and had 4 hooks in him.
  •
JP has been fitted with a transmitter and his travels can be monitored on the Loggerhead Marine Life Center's Web Site, MarineLife.org.
  •
JP was brought to the center in September of 2012.
  •
Now he is back where he belongs!
  •
    Cheers erupted on the beach.
  •
Many were happy to see these beautiful creatures get a second chance.
